As I began the novel, I immediately thought of Clive Cussler and his historical preludes. After a few chapters, I realized that a more apt comparison was Tom Clancy. The accuracy of Mr. Crane's descriptions both on and off the field helped with my understanding of the era and the men who choose to fight instead of being drafted. However, where Mr. Crane excelled was his consummate characterization; his characters became real, and they became friends. I rarely scream aloud when reading. Mr. Crane had me screaming on three occasions. A classic, well-told tale of a lost war, the American warriors who fought it, and why we should forget neither.Product details

i liked it good info about nam.
The book focused on a young man blinded by revenge. His quest took him to Vietnam, where he learned the trade of an Infantryman. He intended to use these skills for his revenge but it ends up consuming him. This is a nice weekend diversion read.
As one with a book-a-day habit when life cooperates, it is uncommon for plot twists to surprise me or for a story to have characters who elicit visceral responses or stay in my memory- Vengeance succeeds. It is worth your time. I look forward to discovering more of Mike Crane’s writing.
Excellent. Easy read but a detailed, technically accurate look into the soul of warriors, who love, hate, and train in disciplined passion. Most civilians do not even know that such guts and mindset still exist. If you enjoy military novels or history, read this. NOTE After 4+ years I change my 4 stars to 5. Crane will make your blood boil. You will never forget this book. Read it.
Kept me interested from page 1. If you enjoy a good novel of men at war this should be on your list
In a nutshell I wanted a Vietnam combat fiction novel. About the first 40% was just that then it turned into a spy / CIA novel that was interesting. BUT, not what I wanted when I purchased this book . I wasn't looking cloak and dagger... just Vietnam combat. The title is misleading.
